Blog March Day 17: Pandora Scooter Calls for Unity in the LGBTQ High School Lunch Room
Spoken word artist, performer, and longtime activist Pandora Scooter sees something familiar in the LGBTQ community - It reminds her a lot of segregation among high school cliques. In "The LGBTQ High School Lunch Room," she calls out racism and sexism at queer events and in chosen friend groups. This piece is a strong statement that no matter the oppression that a person has suffered, there is never an excuse for that person to treat another with bigotry. Pandora Scooter invites us to look at our own social circles and challenges us to invite in others who may not fit our personal demographics.
